Job Title: KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Wandsworth
Salary: £90–£100 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term with the opportunity of a permanent contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:45pm

Are you a compassionate and proactive individual with a passion for supporting children with complex needs? GSL Education is currently recruiting for a KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated and skilled team at a special school in Wandsworth. This role focuses on supporting pupils with profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) across Key Stage.

This is a rewarding long-term opportunity with the possibility of a permanent contract for the right candidate. If you have experience working in a SEN setting or a genuine interest in helping children with additional needs, this role could be perfect for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with PMLD throughout the school day, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assisting with PEG feeding, medication administration, personal care, and monitoring students’ health and well-being.
  • Providing care and classroom support, ensuring pupils are engaged and able to participate in activities.
  • Working closely with teachers and other support staff to adapt learning to meet each pupil’s individual needs.
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety, hygiene, and safeguarding.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working in a SEN setting, particularly with PMLD students.
  • A positive and nurturing approach to supporting children’s learning and personal care.
  • Experience supporting pupils with medical needs, including PEG feeding.
  • A valid right to work in the UK (visa holders are welcome to apply).
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:45pm.
