Science Technician – Full Time – Secondary School in Portsmouth

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Science Technician to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Portsmouth. This is a full-time, term-time only role, perfect for someone with a strong scientific background and a hands-on approach to learning.
About the Role:
As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department to ensure the smooth running of practical lessons. Your duties will include:
- Preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment and materials for practical experiments
- Ensuring health and safety protocols are always followed
- Assisting teachers during practical demonstrations
- Managing stock and ordering supplies
- Maintaining an organised and safe working environment for staff and students
Ideal Candidate:
- Has previous experience working as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment
- Holds a relevant qualification in science or a related field
- Is well-organised, methodical, and able to work independently
- Has a sound understanding of health and safety in a lab setting
- Demonstrates a positive, proactive attitude and a genuine enthusiasm for science
