Inspiring Opportunity: Full-Time Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Winchester, Hampshire

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming secondary school in Winchester, Hampshire. This full-time role begins in September 2025 and offers the chance to support students in a meaningful and rewarding way. A permanent contract is available following a successful probation period.
About the Role
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students with SEN and Speech & Language needs access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Working closely with teaching staff and the school’s SEN team, you’ll provide both in-class and targeted support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Students: Offer tailored assistance to students with SEN and communication needs, helping them stay engaged and confident.
- Speech & Language Support: Work with students to develop their communication skills through structured activities and interventions.
- In-Class Assistance: Collaborate with teachers to ensure students can access learning in a supportive environment.
- Adaptable Support: Be ready to assist across different subjects and year groups as needed.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive, trusting relationships with students to support their academic and emotional development.
What We’re Looking in Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
- Compassionate and Patient: You understand the challenges students face and respond with empathy and encouragement.
- Experience or Willingness to Learn: Prior experience with SEN or Speech & Language support is beneficial, but not essential.
- Collaborative: You work well with teachers, support staff, and external professionals.
- Organised and Reliable: Able to manage your time effectively and take initiative.
- Committed to Safeguarding: You understand the importance of child protection and are willing to undergo all necessary checks.
