Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA)– SEN Primary
Location: Eastbourne
Salary: £90 – £110 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term, Full-time / Part-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN Primary school in Eastbourne. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of pupils who require additional educational support.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping student’s with special educational needs engage with their learning. You’ll assist the class teacher in creating a supportive and effective learning environment tailored to individual needs.

Responsibilities for the Learning Support Assistant:

  • Support students with SEN across a range of activities and learning tasks.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group support where required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to track progress.
  • Promote a calm, safe, and encouraging learning space.

Requirements for the LSA:

  • Prior experience working with SEN pupils is highly advantageous.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting learning.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
  • Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undertake professional development.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
