Nursery Teaching Assistant (EYFS)
Location: Littleover, Derby
Salary: £95 – £110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant (EYFS) to join a vibrant and inclusive school community in Littleover, Derby. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the early development of children within a supportive Early Years environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to deliver high-quality care and education in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. The role is ideal for candidates who are committed to fostering curiosity, independence, and confidence in young learners.

Key Responsibilities of a Nursery Teaching Assistant (Nursery TA):

  • Assist in delivering engaging and age-appropriate learning activities in line with the EYFS curriculum
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to children, including those with additional needs
  • Support the social, emotional, and physical development of pupils through play and guided learning
  • Contribute to observations and assessments to monitor children’s progress
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-organised learning environment
  • Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in your care
  • Support with personal care when required
  • Work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with parents

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally hold a relevant childcare or Early Years qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) is desirable
  • Previous experience working in an EYFS or nursery setting is preferred
  • Sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum
  • Patience, creativity, and a caring nature suited to supporting early childhood development
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply through GSL Education
