Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant – Autism & Complex Needs
Location: Hailsham
Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

GSL Education are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Hailsham that supports children with a wide range of learning difficulties and developmental needs.
About the Role:
You’ll play a vital role in the classroom, offering both academic and emotional support. Pupils may have autism, ADHD, speech and language delays, or other developmental conditions. Every day will bring new challenges — and real opportunities to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 or small-group support to pupils with SEN, especially those with autism

Use structured routines, visuals, and sensory tools to support engagement

Assist with emotional regulation and encourage social development

Work closely with teaching staff and external professionals to meet individual needs

Support pupils with personal care where needed (full training provided)
Requirements:

Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs

A calm, patient, and adaptable approach

Awareness of autism support strategies, or willingness to learn

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Daily pay from £90 to £110, depending on experience
