HLTA Opportunity – 4 Days a Week (QTS Preferred) | Warwick | September 2025 Start
GSL Education is delighted to be recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work in a supportive and forward-thinking primary school located in Warwick. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified HLTA – or a teacher with QTS who is looking to step away from full-time class teaching and move into a cover-based role.
Start Date: September 2025
Working Days: 4 days per week (not required on Tuesdays)
Year Groups: Covering across all year groups
Role Type: Long-term supply (with potential for extension or permanency)
The Role:
- Cover PPA (Planning, Preparation, and Assessment) time across the school.
- Teach whole classes on a timetabled basis, one full day every two weeks per class.
- Work collaboratively with another experienced HLTA already employed directly by the school.
- Share planning responsibilities for a specific subject, such as arithmetic or guided reading/comprehension – with support and resources provided.
- Receive one day of PPA time every two weeks for lesson preparation.
✅ Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- HLTA status OR Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and an interest in TA/cover roles.
- Confidence and ability to lead a whole class independently.
- Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 (desirable but not essential).
- A flexible and positive approach to working across year groups.
- A passion for supporting learning in a creative and structured way.
