Teacher of Science

Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025

Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

Teacher of Science Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that challenge and inspire students.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress.
  • Participate fully in the life of the school, including pastoral duties and enrichment activities.
  • Work closely with colleagues to share best practice and develop schemes of work.

Teacher of Science Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant Science degree.
  • Experience teaching Science at secondary level.
  • Strong command of the curriculum and good behaviour management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Be committed to child protection, safeguarding, and pupil welfare.
  • Hold a Child Only DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
