Salary: £82.80 to £100 per day
Your chance to make a big impact as a SEN Teaching Assistant and join a special school in Fareham for children with special educational needs.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is to support children with severe or profound learning difficulties, some of whom also have an additional diagnosis of autism. Class sizes are smaller, and there is a higher adult-to-child ratio, meaning more support and collaboration.
Prior experience supporting children with SEN would be desirable and a willingness to make a difference.
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Previous experience working in primary or special needs (SEN) settings (Desirable)
- Confidence in supporting children with SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, Speech and language difficulties (is a bonus)
- Experience delivering 1:1 support and working with small groups
- A positive, proactive, and empathetic approach to learning support
Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
- Supporting children with SEN needs in the classroom
- Assisting class teachers with planning and adapting lessons
- Helping children engage in learning and reach their full potential
- Providing personalised interventions and behavioural support
