GSL Education are looking for a SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in managing challenging behaviours to join an inspiring and inclusive school in Basingstoke.
This Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and young people with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant :
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional well-being and engagement in school life
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions
- Monitor student welfare and behaviour across the school day, working closely with teaching staff, therapists, and families
- Support the implementation of behaviour and emotional support plans
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment

- Job Type: Full-Time/ part time
- Salary: £82.80 to £100 per day
The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:
- Have experience or a passion for working with children with SEN
- Be flexible, proactive and patient
- Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
- Be able to communicate effectively within a team
- Be open to providing personal care
- A keen interest and willingness to work with challenging behaviour and complex needs.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
