Learning Support Assistant – Secondary School | Fareham

The Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning. This is a varied and dynamic position, one day you might be supporting a classroom teacher during lessons, and the next you could be working closely with students who have specific learning needs, such as autism, ADHD, or SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Delivering in-class support and assisting with differentiated activities
- Providing 1:1 or small group interventions to boost student progress
- Supporting students with special educational needs to access the curriculum
- Assisting in the development of learning materials and classroom organisation
- Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Collaborating with SENCOs, teachers, and support staff to deliver tailored support

Candidate Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people (education or youth-based settings preferred)

- An Enhanced Child Workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through GSL
