About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher, you will deliver creative and adaptive teaching to students who face significant social, emotional, or mental health challenges. You will design lessons tailored to individual needs, focusing on both academic progress and personal growth. Your support will play a vital role in building self-esteem, encouraging positive behaviour, and enabling students to feel safe and valued within the school environment.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver bespoke learning programmes for pupils with SEMH and other SEN.
  • Employ flexible teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Support emotional regulation, behaviour management, and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and external professionals to evaluate and improve support plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, adjusting interventions as needed.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and inspiring classroom environment.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching or supporting students with SEMH needs within a specialist or mainstream setting.
  • Strong knowledge of strategies to support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment that meets diverse learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring and empathetic approach.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and an unwavering commitment to student welfare.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
