Location: Grimsby
Salary: £98.94 – £114.84 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants to work in a variety of schools across Grimsby. This is an excellent opportunity to play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning, contributing directly to pupils’ progress and school success.

As an HLTA, you’ll work alongside teachers and independently lead planned lessons or small group interventions. You’ll support pupils’ learning across the curriculum, assist in behaviour management, and play a key part in maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role suits confident, adaptable individuals with a strong understanding of classroom practice and a passion for supporting young learners.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Deliver lessons and interventions to groups or whole classes in the absence of a teacher
  • Support classroom learning through targeted assistance and planning
  • Help prepare resources and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers and SENCOs
  • Promote good behaviour and engagement in the classroom
  • Work closely with teaching staff to assess, plan and deliver support
  • Provide pastoral and academic support to individual students
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Uphold safeguarding policies and procedures at all times

HLTA Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or relevant Level 4 Teaching Assistant certification
  • Recent experience in a classroom or school-based setting as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or a Senior Level Teaching Assistant
  • Ability to deliver lessons and manage groups independently
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A flexible, proactive, and professional approach to support
  • Updated CV and Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
