What You’ll Do:

  • Support children with complex needs either 1:1 or in small groups

  • Use strategies like PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to aid communication

  • Help pupils manage their emotions, stay regulated, and feel safe

  • Encourage independence through play-based and practical learning

  • Work closely with teachers, SEN specialists, and therapists

  • Provide personal care where required (training given)

Who We’re Looking For:

  • Someone experienced in SEN settings or with transferable child support skills

  • Confidence supporting children with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, or SLCN

  • Calm, empathetic, and able to respond to challenging behaviours

  • Comfortable using (or learning) SEN tools and communication aids

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding and a child-first mindset

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply

The Offer:

  • Access to specialist SEN support and training

  • A collaborative, well-resourced, and supportive school environment

  • Long-term potential and meaningful day-to-day impact

Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks; including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
