Location: Derby
Rate: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Derby. This is your chance to be a positive influence and help students overcome challenges to reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural support, helping them to engage positively with their learning and school environment. You’ll collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement behaviour management strategies, provide one-to-one and small group support, and create a safe, structured, and encouraging atmosphere for learning.
Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Support students with behavioural needs in and out of the classroom.
- Implement tailored behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional and social development.
- Assist in developing and delivering individual behaviour plans.
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support when necessary.
Requirements for Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs.
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
- A valid enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
