Rate: £90 – £110 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

About the Role

As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA), you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural support. You’ll collaborate with teachers and pastoral staff to create a structured and supportive learning environment, helping students develop positive behaviours and emotional resilience. Use creative and proactive strategies to engage students and promote a culture of respect and achievement.

Key Responsibilities of Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Support students with behavioural needs in both classroom and one-on-one settings.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Individual Behaviour Plans (IBPs).
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation through structured activities.
  • Monitor and record student behaviour, progress, and engagement.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel respected and supported.

Requirements of Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant (TA)

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural challenges.
  • Understanding of behaviour management techniques and de-escalation strategies.
  • Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with students and staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies.
