Job Title: English Teacher
Location: Derby
Salary: £120 – £251 per day (dependent on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day‑to‑day/Long‑term, Part‑time/Full‑time

GSL Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and committed English Teacher to join a dynamic school in Derby. This is a fantastic opportunity to help students explore the power of words and build essential communication skills.

Role Overview:
As an English Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and a love of reading and writing. You will play a key role in student development and academic success across all Key Stages (and Key Stage 5 if applicable).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in English Language and Literature.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
  • Track and assess pupil progress using formative and summative methods.
  • Contribute to the development of the English curriculum.
  • Promote a positive classroom culture focused on respect, growth, and engagement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English with the ability to teach at a secondary level.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and classroom management skills.
  • Passion for English education and student development.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
