SEN Teaching Assistant – Mental Health Needs – Totton – September Start!

You should be working with GSL Education at an inspiring special school. We are proud to be representing a forward-thinking SEN school in Totton that are looking to add SEN Teaching Assistants to their staff for September 2025.

The role as a Teaching Assistant consists of working alongside students in their day-to-day school life, supporting learning in the classroom, managing behaviours and working alongside the school's team of specialists that include Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and Educational Psychologists.

  • Job Type: Full-Time
  • Salary: £82.80 to £100 per day

The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant should:

  • Have experience or a passion for working with children with SEN
  • Be flexible, proactive and patient
  • Be nurturing and caring in your approaches
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team
  •  Be open to providing personal care
  • A keen interest and willingness to work with challenging behaviour and complex needs.

To work with GSL Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you should: 

  • Have the right to work in the UK. 
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years. 
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
