Cover Supervisor (KS3 – KS4) – Barnsley
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £94 – £115 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

This is a brilliant opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, or experienced school staff looking to gain meaningful experience in education.

About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll deliver pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher, helping maintain continuity in pupils’ education. You will manage classroom behaviour, provide guidance where needed, and ensure a calm, productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise whole classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the teacher

  • Deliver lesson content provided by teaching staff

  • Maintain a positive and orderly classroom environment

  • Encourage student engagement and monitor progress

  • Report any concerns or achievements to relevant teaching staff

  • Support classroom preparation and organisation as needed

Candidate Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a school or educational setting is desirable

  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills

  • A confident, adaptable, and proactive approach

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people

  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
