Job Title SEMH Teaching Assistant (Primary)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £86 - £100 per day (Depending on experience)
Start: Immediate
Contract: Full-time

A specialist primary provision in Chesterfield is looking for a full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant (SEMH TA) to start immediately. This rewarding role involves working closely with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, providing one-to-one and small group support. Due to the nature of the role, a full UK driving licence with business insurance is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Support pupils with SEMH needs in both classroom and off-site settings.
- Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions to aid emotional regulation and learning.
- Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to implement individual support plans.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being
- Support students during transitions, activities, and structured routines.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment that promotes personal and academic development.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEMH or additional needs (school or alternative setting).
- A full UK driving licence and business insurance are a must.
- Strong behaviour management and emotional resilience.
- Ability to build trust and rapport with vulnerable pupils.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
