Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Stonecross
Salary: £90 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you an empathetic and reliable 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant eager to support children with special educational needs in a meaningful and personalised way?

GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 SEN TA to support a pupil with additional needs in a nurturing school based in Stonecross. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping individual students overcome barriers to learning and succeed both academically and socially.

Role Overview:
As a 1:1 SEN TA, you will work closely with a specific student, providing individualised support tailored to their educational, emotional, and behavioural needs. You will help the child feel secure, engaged, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver targeted support to a named pupil on a one-to-one basis.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing individualised learning strategies.
  • Encourage independence while offering consistent guidance.
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress and adapt support accordingly.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.

Requirements for 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly on a 1:1 basis, is desirable.
  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt support techniques based on the child’s evolving needs.
  • Team-oriented, with strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
