Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (TA)
Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £100 – £110 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN TA to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for supporting learners with additional needs and helping them achieve their full potential.
Role Overview:
As a SEN TA, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support due to learning difficulties, autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or social, emotional, and mental health challenges. You will assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and help create a positive and safe learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with SEN.
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) under the guidance of the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Promote inclusion and ensure all pupils feel supported and valued.
- Assist with classroom routines, behaviour management, and academic activities.
- Foster a nurturing environment that promotes pupils’ well-being and confidence.
Requirements for SEN TA:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable.
- A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with vulnerable learners.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Relevant training or qualifications (e.g., Team Teach, Autism Awareness) are a plus.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
