Job Title: Primary Teacher (KS1)
Location: Nottingham
Salary: £120 - £250 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day/Long-Term; Full-Time/Part-Time

GSL Education are appointing Primary KS1 Teachers to join vibrant primary schools in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity for teachers who are committed to delivering high-quality teaching and creating a positive classroom experience for every child.

As a Primary KS1 Teacher, you will support students in Year 1 and Year 2, helping them grow in confidence and develop key skills in reading, writing, and maths. You will work closely with staff and families to ensure every child receives the right support to succeed.

Key Responsibilities of a Primary KS1 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons that follow the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all children feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the different learning needs and abilities of students in Year 1 and Year 2.
  • Promote good behaviour and routines using consistent, age-appropriate behaviour management strategies.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through observations, marking, and assessment tools such as phonics screening and teacher assessments.
  • Keep accurate records and report on children’s development to parents, carers, and school leaders.

Requirements for a Primary KS1 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent UK-recognised teaching qualification.
  • Previous UK experience teaching within a Key Stage 1 classroom is desirable
  • Strong understanding of the KS1 national curriculum assessment frameworks
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  •  Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
