Teaching Assistant (KS1 Year) – Bournemouth
Do you have a passion for working with children and want to make a real difference in the classroom?
A welcoming and supportive mainstream Primary School in Bournemouth is looking for a full-time Teaching Assistant (TA) to join their KS1 team, supporting a Year 1 class from September 2025. This exciting opportunity is perfect for someone with experience working with children in any capacity—whether as a nursery nurse, childminder, sports coach, or dance teacher. A school tour will be offered prior to a more formal interview, and interviews will be held over the coming weeks.
Key Responsibilities of TA:
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Work one-to-one or with small groups of children to support learning and development.
- Help manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
- Assist with setting up classroom resources and activities.
- Provide emotional and social support to pupils as needed.
- Contribute to the overall well-being and progress of the children in your care.
Job Requirements:
- Experience working with children in any setting (e.g., nursery nurse, sport coach, childminder or dance teacher).
- Enthusiasm, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved in all aspects of school life.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply via GSL).
