Job Title: Behaviour Support Assistant
Location: Eastbourne
Salary Range: £90–£110 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time / Long-term

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a nurturing primary school in Eastbourne, supporting pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s school journey.
The Role:
You’ll be providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils who need help managing their emotions and behaviour, while promoting positive engagement in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs in KS1 or KS2

Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour reinforcement

Work closely with SENCOs, class teachers, and external agencies

Help pupils regulate emotions, stay on task, and build confidence

Monitor progress and communicate with staff and parents
Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience in a school or care setting supporting challenging behaviour
-
A calm, consistent, and empathetic approach

Confidence managing behaviour positively and proactively
-
Team Teach or similar behaviour management training (preferred)

A CV covering the last 10 years with no unexplained gaps

An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
