SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Gainsborough
Salary: £88.94 - £114.84 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently looking for enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join primary schools in Gainsborough. This role is ideal for someone who has a genuine passion for supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN) and wants to be part of a supportive and nurturing school community.

Responsibilities of SEN Teaching Assistant:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN

  • Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) and EHCPs

  • Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all pupils

  • Support students with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction

  • Adapt classroom resources and learning materials to meet individual needs

  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals

  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

  • Help manage behaviour and promote engagement in learning

  • Support with personal care or mobility where required

  • Uphold all safeguarding and child protection policies consistently

SEN TA Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (in education or care)

  • A relevant TA qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent) is desirable

  • A degree in Psychology, SEN or a similar field

  • Strong understanding of a range of special educational needs

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff

  • Resilience, patience, and a caring approach to learning support

  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
