Level 2 Teaching Assistant
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

If so, GSL Education are currently seeking Level 2 Teaching Assistants to work in a range of friendly and inclusive primary schools in Grimsby. Whether you’re looking for flexible day-to-day work or a long-term placement, we have opportunities available to suit your preferences and experience level.

As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Level 2 TA), you will be a key support to teachers and pupils in the classroom. You will help create a positive and stimulating learning environment, providing academic, emotional, and social support to pupils of varying abilities.

Key Responsibilities of a Level 2 TA:

  • Support teaching and learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
  • Work with individuals and small groups of children to reinforce learning
  • Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and resources
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement during lessons
  • Help monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records
  • Provide supervision during break and lunch times when needed
  • Support pupils with basic pastoral care and emotional needs
  • Assist with phonics, reading, numeracy, and literacy activities
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support colleagues
  • Promote inclusion and ensure equal access to learning for all pupils

What we need from a Level 2 Teaching Assistant:

  • A recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children in a school or educational setting as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable nature
  • A willingness to take initiative and work as part of a team
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
