SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools
Location: Grimsby
Salary: £88.94 - £114.84 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Grimsby. These roles are perfect for those with experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and communication challenges. As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be a vital part of the school community, working closely with teachers and the SEN team to ensure that every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.

Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist in delivering and adapting classroom tasks and learning resources
- Help implement IEP and EHCP targets
- Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in pupils
- Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals
- Monitor and report on student progress and development
- Contribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environment
- Deliver intervention sessions where required
- Ensure safeguarding policies are consistently followed
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school or care setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) or similar
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essential
- A degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field.
- Ability to stay calm, supportive, and flexible under pressure
- Awareness of a range of SEN needs and classroom strategies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for supporting the development of young learners
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
