Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Barton-upon-Humber
Salary: £98.94 – £114.84 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a committed and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly primary school in Barton-upon-Humber. This role offers an excellent opportunity to take on additional responsibility while making a meaningful contribution to pupils’ education. Early Career Teacher (ECT)s are welcomed to the role.
Role Overview:
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will support class teachers with lesson delivery, lead small group sessions, and take responsibility for whole-class teaching when required. You will play a key role in raising achievement and ensuring pupils have a positive learning experience.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and delivering high-quality lessons.
- Provide targeted support to pupils both in groups and on a 1:1 basis.
- Deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Monitor and track pupil progress, offering feedback to staff and pupils.
- Encourage a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements for Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA):
- HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Previous experience working within a primary or secondary school.
- Strong communication, behaviour management and teamwork skills..
- A proactive, flexible approach to supporting teaching and learning
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
