SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Chichester, West Sussex
Start Date: September 2025 | Contract Type: Full-Time

GSL Education are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to work in a supportive secondary school in Chichester, West Sussex, starting from September 2025. This role is based in the school’s dedicated resource base, which supports students with Autism and Learning Difficulties. The position offers the opportunity for progression through the pay grades and a permanent contract following a successful probation period.

Responsibilities of Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and group support for students with Autism and Learning Difficulties
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEN team to implement individual learning plans
- Assist students in accessing the curriculum and building confidence in a nurturing environment
- Encourage independence, social development, and emotional well-being
- Track and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and SEN staff
- Support with classroom preparation, organisation, and differentiated learning activities
SEN TA Requirements:
- Experience supporting children or young people with special educational needs as a SEN Teaching Assistant or similar
- Background in care or education with relevant, transferable skills
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one
