About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you’ll work closely with pupils, families, and colleagues to deliver tailored support plans, adapted lessons, and interventions that meet each child's individual needs. You'll foster an encouraging and welcoming classroom atmosphere that boosts confidence, independence, and social skills.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver bespoke learning programmes for pupils with diverse needs, including SEMH, Autism, and other SEN.
  • Adapt your teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Support social skills development, behavioural management, and emotional well-being.
  • Work in partnership with teaching assistants, parents, and external agencies to plan and review support strategies.
  • Keep accurate records of progress and adjust your planning to ensure every child’s success.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment in line with safeguarding standards.
  • Create a stimulating and friendly setting that encourages curiosity and engagement.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A relevant teaching qualification (such as QTS or equivalent).
  • Experience working with pupils with special educational needs or within specialist settings.
  • Strong understanding of SEN, SEND legislation, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse learners.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check (preferably registered on the Update Service).
