Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Doncaster
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

Are you a resilient and compassionate Behaviour Mentor seeking a rewarding role supporting young people with behavioural and emotional needs?

GSL Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a supportive school environment in Doncaster. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of behaviour management, who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of students.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional support with managing behaviour and emotional regulation. You will build strong relationships, deliver targeted interventions, and help create a positive and structured learning environment where students feel safe and valued.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with behavioural challenges.
  • Implement strategies to help students manage emotions, behaviour, and social interactions.
  • Work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to monitor progress and adapt support plans.
  • Encourage student engagement and promote positive behaviour across the school.
  • Support with behaviour-related incidents and restorative approaches.

Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and de-escalation skills.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed approaches, or SEMH is desirable.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
