Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently looking for a compassionate and proactive Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school in Wakefield. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about promoting positive behaviour, building resilience, and supporting pupils’ emotional and social development.
Role Overview:
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work directly with students presenting behavioural difficulties. You will play a crucial role in guiding them towards improved self-regulation, increased engagement, and academic success.
Role Responsibilities:.
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with behavioural needs.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support emotional well-being.
- Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to implement behaviour intervention plans.
- Promote a calm and structured environment, using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Assist in developing pupils’ social and communication skills.
Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:
- Prior experience working in a school or youth setting with behavioural needs.
- Knowledge of positive behaviour support and emotional literacy strategies.
- A calm, patient, and empathetic attitude.
- Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
- Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
