Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a passionate Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Sheffield. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in supporting young people, particularly those who face behavioural or emotional challenges.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a key role in supporting pupils who struggle with managing their behaviour. Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll provide interventions, guidance, and encouragement to help students stay engaged with learning and build positive relationships.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Offer one-to-one or small group support to students with behavioural difficulties.
  • Implement personalised strategies to encourage positive behaviour and self-regulation.
  • Support pupils’ emotional and social development through mentoring and modelling.
  • Collaborate with staff to monitor progress and review behaviour support plans.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting is desireable.
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and pastoral support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to student development.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
