Job Title: Behaviour Mentor

Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)

GSL Education are currently looking to appoint an experienced Behaviour Mentor to work in a vibrant and inclusive school located in Sheffield. The school is seeking a candidate who can provide both academic and emotional support, helping students develop the skills they need to succeed.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them to manage challenges and fully access their learning. You will be a key part of the pastoral team, contributing to a positive and structured school environment.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored one-to-one and group support to pupils exhibiting challenging behaviours.
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans in collaboration with school staff.
  • Act as a mentor and positive role model, encouraging engagement and self-confidence.
  • Promote a calm, respectful, and inclusive classroom and school environment.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to staff.

Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs or behavioural difficulties is desireable.
  • A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to working with pupils.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
