Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £95 – £120 per day (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-tim

Are you a dedicated Behaviour Mentor with a passion for supporting pupils’ emotional and behavioural development in a school setting

GSL Education are currently seeking a committed and empathetic Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive school community in Sheffield. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviours and be ready to make a lasting impact.

Role Overview:

As a Behaviour Mentor, your main role will be to support students with behavioural and emotional difficulties to engage with learning and develop positive coping strategies. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to create a consistent and nurturing environment that promotes student growth.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one or small group behaviour support sessions.
  • Use de-escalation and behaviour management strategies effectively.
  • Support students with self-regulation, social skills, and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to support consistent behavioural approaches.
  • Encourage and model positive behaviour both in and out of the classroom.

Requirements for Behaviour Mentor:

  • Previous experience in a behaviour support, mentoring, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young people.
  • Have an up-to-date CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
