Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Doncaster (DN5)
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a nurturing and skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to support students at a warm and inclusive school in Doncaster (DN5). As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and SEN professionals to support students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and social or emotional challenges. Your focus will be on helping students achieve their full potential in both academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group interventions for students with SEN.
  • Support students with EHCP targets and contribute to review processes.
  • Adapt classroom materials and activities to suit individual learning styles.
  • Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Foster independence, confidence and appropriate behaviour in pupils.
  • Provide feedback to teachers and parents on student progress and areas for development.
  • Uphold strong safeguarding practices at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
  • Understanding of different special educational needs and relevant support strategies.
  • A caring, patient and adaptable nature.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff and families.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Full-time availability and commitment to making a lasting impact.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
