Job Title: Sports Coach
Location: Sheffield
Salary Range: £95 -£120 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: Immediate
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to support students within a vibrant and inclusive school environment in Sheffield. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for delivering structured physical activities, encouraging student engagement, and assisting in the overall development of pupils’ health and well-being. You will play a vital role in nurturing a love for sport while supporting students with a variety of physical and emotional needs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist PE lessons and structured physical activity sessions.
  • Deliver extracurricular sports clubs and enrichment activities.
  • Support pupils' physical, social, and emotional development through sport.
  • Collaborate with PE teachers and other school staff to ensure consistent support.
  • Provide one-to-one or small group mentoring for students in need of additional support.
  • Manage behaviour positively during sports sessions and promote teamwork and respect.
  • Ensure safe use of sports equipment and uphold safeguarding standards at all times.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience coaching or mentoring young people in schools or community settings.
  • Relevant coaching qualification(s) or a degree in Sports Science, PE, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of child development and the role of physical education in schools.
  • Confidence in managing groups and maintaining engagement during sessions.
  • A proactive, positive, and empathetic attitude towards young people.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
