Job Title: Behaviour Mentor
Location: Wakefield
Salary: £95 - £120 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediately
Contract: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated and empathetic Behaviour Mentors to support pupils at a range of schools in Wakefield from September 2025. This role offers the chance to work across different educational environments, helping to improve student behaviour and wellbeing.

About the Role:

As a Behaviour Mentor, you will provide targeted behavioural and emotional support to pupils, working alongside staff in various settings to create a nurturing environment conducive to learning. Your role will involve building respectful relationships and helping students develop skills for success.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Support students with behavioural difficulties through mentoring and tailored interventions
  • Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies and restorative practices
  • Build rapport with pupils to encourage positive engagement and self-regulation
  • Support pupils during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to monitor and report on student progress
  • Help facilitate social skills programs and resilience activities
  • Contribute to a calm, inclusive, and safe environment across different schools

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children or adolescents in a support, mentoring, or pastoral setting
  • Strong patience, empathy, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour with a calm approach
  • A commitment to promoting wellbeing and personal growth among students
  • An enhanced Child Workforce DBS valid on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
  • Relevant experience or qualifications in youth work, mentoring, or education are advantageous
