Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are offering an excellent opportunity for reliable SEN Teaching Assistants to work in mainstream primary schools across Gainsborough. Whether you are an experienced individual or looking to begin your journey in education, we want to hear from you.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will support students with a range of special educational needs—including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning disabilities. Working closely with class teachers and SENCOs, you will contribute to personalised learning plans and help students engage confidently with the curriculum.
SEN TA Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support tailored to individual students with SEND.
- Assist in implementing Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Encourage students’ participation, independence, and social interaction.
- Use a range of communication strategies to engage students with varying needs.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to deliver consistent care.
- Adapt resources and teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements for Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar is preferred.
- CACHE Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Teaching Assistance or Childcare (desirable but not essential).
- Candidates must have strong skills in behaviour management to succeed in this role.
- A degree in Psychology, SEND, Counselling or a similar field.
- Ability to follow individual support strategies and adapt to dynamic classroom needs.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
