Salary: £90 – £130 per day (Depending on experience)

Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work in a welcoming and inclusive school in Colchester. This is an ideal opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with a range of learning needs and helping them thrive in their educational journey.

Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will provide tailored support to students both in and out of the classroom, working closely with teachers and SEN staff to ensure each pupil receives the guidance they need to reach their potential.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Support students with special educational needs or learning difficulties on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Assist the class teacher in preparing resources and delivering lessons.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
  • Encourage student independence, confidence, and participation.
  • Support behaviour management and promote emotional well-being.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience as a LSA or in a similar support role in education.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to working with children.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and SEN support strategies.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in education/SEN are desirable but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
