Food Technician
Location: Kensington and Chelsea
Salary: £100 - £130 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term
GSL Education London Branch is seeking a Food Technician to join a vibrant co-educational secondary school in the beautiful borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and organised Food Technician to work closely with the Design and Technology department, supporting the delivery of engaging and practical food lessons.
The successful Food Technician will play a vital role in ensuring that food technology lessons run smoothly and safely, supporting both teachers and students in preparing and organising materials, ingredients, and equipment. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities of a Food Technician:

Support teachers in preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical food lessons.

Ensure the food room is clean, organised, and fully stocked at all times.

Assist students during lessons, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

Order and manage stock efficiently, keeping records of purchases and usage.

Help with lesson demonstrations and displays of student work when required.
Requirements for a Food Technician:

Previous experience in a school or kitchen environment is desirable.

Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety practices.

Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

A friendly and approachable personality, with a positive attitude.

A Geography specialist with the ability to support other Humanities subjects is highly desirable.

A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
