Food Technician 
Location: Kensington and Chelsea
Salary: £100 - £130 per day
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Long-term

GSL Education London Branch is seeking a Food Technician to join a vibrant co-educational secondary school in the beautiful borough of Kensington and Chelsea. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and organised Food Technician to work closely with the Design and Technology department, supporting the delivery of engaging and practical food lessons.

The successful Food Technician will play a vital role in ensuring that food technology lessons run smoothly and safely, supporting both teachers and students in preparing and organising materials, ingredients, and equipment. You will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities of a Food Technician:

  • Support teachers in preparing ingredients, materials, and equipment for practical food lessons.

  • Ensure the food room is clean, organised, and fully stocked at all times.

  • Assist students during lessons, maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.

  • Order and manage stock efficiently, keeping records of purchases and usage.

  • Help with lesson demonstrations and displays of student work when required.

Requirements for a Food Technician:

  • Previous experience in a school or kitchen environment is desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of food hygiene, health and safety practices.

  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

  • A friendly and approachable personality, with a positive attitude.

  • A Geography specialist with the ability to support other Humanities subjects is highly desirable.

  • A valid enhanced DBS registered on the update service, or willingness to apply for one.
