Pay: £120–£200 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently seeking a motivated Classroom Teacher to join a welcoming and values-led primary school in Lewes, with an immediate start.

About the Role:

As a Classroom Teacher at the primary school, you will be responsible for leading a class with enthusiasm, empathy, and high expectations. The school encourages innovative teaching approaches, allowing teachers the flexibility to personalise lessons and foster a love of learning in every child. You’ll benefit from small class sizes, supportive leadership, and a well-resourced setting that values staff development and wellbeing.

The role is open to both experienced teachers and ECTs, with mentoring available for those at the beginning of their careers.

What you have to do as a Class Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all learners
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment
  • Assess pupil progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals
  • Promote positive behaviour and high standards of learning and conduct
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and school-wide events
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school community
  • Maintain accurate records in line with school policies and procedures
  • Support the school’s values and actively uphold its safeguarding responsibilities

Primary School Class Teacher Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or PGCE is essential
  • Previous experience working as a Primary Class Teacher is essential.
  • ECTs are encouraged to apply and will be fully supported
  • Passion for teaching and a commitment to inclusive education
  • Ability to engage and inspire young learners
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
