Job Title: Science Teacher
Location: Rotherham
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are currently recruiting a passionate and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a supportive and forward-thinking school in Rotherham. This position welcomes both experienced practitioners and ECTs with strong subject knowledge and a commitment to excellent teaching.

Role Overview:
As a Science Teacher, you will lead engaging lessons across all Key Stages, nurturing scientific curiosity and academic success. You will become a valued member of a collaborative science department that strives for high achievement and continuous development.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics tailored to different learning needs.
  • Create a stimulating classroom environment that encourages curiosity and independent thinking.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations using structured and differentiated approaches.
  • Assess, track, and report on student progress with clear and actionable feedback.
  • Support curriculum development and participate in departmental improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain alignment with national curriculum standards and uphold school policies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning atmosphere.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in Science.
  • Possess strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics, and confidence teaching across all sciences.
  • Previous classroom experience in a school setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Effective communication, behaviour management, and organisational skills.
  • Flexibility to respond to a variety of classroom and learner needs.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
