Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location:
Barnsley (S71)
Pay Rate: £95 – £120 per day
Start Date: ASAP

GSL Education is currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs in primary and specialist settings across Barnsley. This role is ideal for someone with patience, empathy, and a commitment to helping every child reach their potential.

Job Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs.
• Assist with implementing EHCP targets and differentiated learning plans.
• Encourage independence, confidence, and positive behaviour in learners.
• Work closely with SENCOs, teachers, and therapists to support student progress.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Requirements:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Knowledge of autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and respond to individual needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
