Music Teacher
Location: Sheffield, S9
Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

Are you a passionate and inspiring Music Teacher ready to spark creativity and rhythm in the next generation?

GSL Education are looking for a dedicated Music Teacher to work in secondary schools across Sheffield, starting September 2025. This role is ideal for experienced teachers or Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who want to deliver an exciting and inclusive music curriculum to students across Key Stages.

As a Teacher of Music, you will deliver high-quality lessons that explore a range of musical genres, instruments, and composition skills. You will inspire pupils to engage with music both practically and theoretically while helping them develop their confidence and musicality.

Responsibilities of a Music Teacher:

  • Deliver engaging and creative Music lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
  • Encourage performance, composition, and appreciation of music from diverse styles and cultures
  • Prepare students for assessments and, where applicable, GCSE Music examinations
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that fosters creativity and enthusiasm
  • Coordinate with colleagues for school concerts, productions, and extracurricular activities
  • Manage instruments, music technology, and equipment safely and effectively
  • Provide individual or small group instrumental/vocal support where needed
  • Promote a passion for music within and beyond the classroom
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Contribute to the wider school community through musical enrichment

Music Teacher Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
  • Degree in Music or a related field
  • Experience teaching Music in UK secondary schools
  • Strong instrumental/vocal ability and musical knowledge
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
