Salary: Up to £220 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: September 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-Day / Long-Term; Full-Time / Part-Time

GSL Education are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable English Teacher to join schools in the Sheffield area starting September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) who are dedicated to student development and academic success.
About the Role:
As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality English lessons that challenge and engage students. You will inspire learners to explore a love of reading and writing, prepare them for examinations, and support their academic progress across Key Stages.
Key Responsibilities of an English Teacher:
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 & 5
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes progress and enthusiasm for English
- Monitor and assess students’ progress, providing targeted feedback and interventions
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with the school’s policies
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure all students reach their potential
- Promote a love of literature, creative writing, and language comprehension
- Prepare students for GCSE assessments and ensure high academic outcomes
Teacher of English Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
- Specialism in English Language or Literature
- Proven experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
- Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
- A commitment to raising standards and supporting student progress
- Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
