Product Design Teacher
Location: York, North Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: MPS/UPS; £31,650 - £49,084 per annum

Contract Type: Full-Time


Are you a passionate and innovative Product Design Teacher looking for an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of designers? If so, GSL Education are recruiting a Product Design Teacher to work within a Client Secondary School located in York, North Yorkshire, starting in September 2025.

About this Role:

  • Deliver engaging and creative Product Design lessons.
  • Implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate.
  • Plan and assess student progress.
  • Support students by delivering differentiated Product Design lessons that are accessible to students with varying special needs.
  • Contribute to the development of the D&T curriculum and extracurricular activities.

Product Design Teacher  requirements:

  • A UK teaching qualification namely e.g. PGCE in Product Design and Technology or B.Ed with QTS.
  • Proven experience teaching Product/Design Technology, ideally in an SEN or inclusive setting, with a strong understanding of the challenges and strategies for working with students with SEN.
  • Interested in children as individuals, in how they learn and in a collaborative approach to learning.
  • Experience with 3D printing, laser cutting, and other modern manufacturing techniques is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
