Job Title: Behaviour Support Worker

Salary: £90–£115 per day (Depending on experience)

About your role as a Behaviour Support Worker:
In this role, you will support children and young people who find it hard to manage their behaviour and emotions. You will provide guidance and encouragement to help them build resilience and self-control. Working as part of a team, you will help create a safe space where students can learn, grow, and feel respected. Your role will be essential in helping students overcome obstacles and succeed in school.
Responsibilities of the role of Behaviour Support Worker:
- Deliver one-to-one and small group support for students who experience challenges with behaviour, emotional regulation, or social interaction to help them engage confidently in classroom activities.
- Implement behaviour support strategies and calming techniques during difficult situations, ensuring alignment with school policies and individual plans.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs to modify teaching methods and foster a positive, respectful learning environment.
- Track and document students’ behaviour and progress, providing regular and clear communication to the education team.
- Guide students in managing emotions, building coping skills, and forming healthy relationships with peers and adults.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, organised, and calm atmosphere throughout the school premises.
Requirements of the role:
- Experience working with children or young people who face behavioural or emotional difficulties is preferred.
- Awareness of conditions such as Autism, ADHD, attachment challenges, or trauma-informed care is beneficial.
- Effective communication skills, along with a patient, calm, and compassionate approach.
- Ability to stay composed and adaptable, responding to situations with kindness, fairness, and understanding.
