Job description
Learning Support Assistant (Full-Time)
Are you looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you thrive in a supportive environment where every day brings new challenges and rewards?
GSL Education is seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming secondary school in Dibden Purlieu. This full-time role starts in September 2025 and is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting students with special educational needs and a range of learning differences.
The School Environment
The school you’ll be supporting prides itself on being inclusive and student-centred. Staff work closely with young people, their families, and external agencies to create a learning environment where all students – regardless of need – can flourish academically and emotionally.
As an LSA, you will be part of a caring team dedicated to helping pupils overcome obstacles and develop confidence in both their learning and social interactions.
Role Overview
Your main responsibility will be to assist students in and out of lessons, helping them access learning and build their independence. This includes:
- Providing in-class support across various subjects.
- Delivering tailored interventions outside the classroom.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional resilience.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the school’s SEN team.
- Tracking progress and celebrating small but meaningful achievements.
Who We’re Looking For
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- Have previous experience working with young people (education or care settings).
- Are patient, understanding, and calm under pressure.
- Hold at least a Grade C/4 in GCSE English and Maths.
- Have a strong interest in SEND, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
- Are confident working one-to-one and in small groups.
- Are ready to commit to a full-time role during term time.
Why Work Through GSL Education?
- Expert guidance from experienced education consultants.
- Full support throughout the recruitment process, including interview coaching.
- Access to roles that offer professional development and long-term potential.
- We’re committed to finding the right fit for both our candidates and the schools we support.
